Side-by-side fridge vs. combi fridge

Side by side fridges and combi fridges differ in a few things, especially in terms of size. Side by side refrigerators have double doors, with the refrigerator compartment and the freezer compartment placed side by side (hence the name). They also often contain some specialities – for example, in our selection you will find models with an ice maker and a water tank. They are bigger in size and are especially suitable for large kitchens.

The combi fridge is more compact in size than the side-by-side refrigerator. In it, the refrigerator compartment and the freezer compartment are on top of another. The combi fridge works especially in smaller kitchens and does a great job when you do not need a lot of freezer space. You can find different sized versions of our combi fridges, so you can choose a more spacious model if needed. Choose the size according to your needs

It is a good idea to get started by thinking about what kind of refrigerator you are going to use and what size it should be. The larger the number of people living in the household, the larger the refrigerator should be. The size of the freezer compartment should also be kept in mind, because if you freeze very little food, the combi fridge can work very well for you due to its smaller size. 

If you choose a fridge too large for your needs, your electricity consumption may accidentally become far too high. Therefore, the energy rating of the fridge is a very important feature, as it tells the amount of electricity consumed by the appliance. Energy consumption is stated on all our refrigerator models.

Comparing the features

In both combi fridges and side by side refrigerators you will find standard functions such as fruit and vegetable box, temperature control and adjustable shelves. In some of our models, you will also find the No Frost freezer, which prevents frost and ice from accumulating on the walls of the freezer, or the Fresh Cooling System, which blows cold air evenly into all shelf spaces. In our side-by-side refrigerators you will also find a door display and, depending on the model, an ice maker, so you can treat yourself with a cold coffee or cocktail in the summer – something you do not get from regular fridges!
